Saturday, February 23 – Fremont and Great Spirit United Methodist Women’s Joint Meeting at 10:00 am
Fremont and Great Spirit United Methodist Women (UMW) are holding a joint gathering on Saturday, February 23 at Great Spirit Church located at 3917 Shaver Street, Portland, all are invited to attend. Women who haven’t attended a prior UMW meeting are especially invited! The meeting starts at 10:00 with refreshments, announcements, flute playing and prayer concerns! At about 11:00 am, Linda Meanus will speak on the Native American “First Fruits” of salmon, roots, berries, deer and elk and the key importance of Celilo Falls in the early history of Native Americans in Oregon and Washington.

Monday, March 4 – Legislative Advocacy Day
The Interfaith Alliance on Poverty is encouraging its member congregations to participate actively in the Legislative Advocacy Day on Monday, March 4 in Salem. The primary sponsor is Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon and we are proud to be a co-sponsor.
EMO requests that people register by Monday, February 25 on its website: www.emoregon.org and scroll to Interfaith Advocacy Day. There is a $20 fee to help cover expenses. Les Wardenaar is coordinating transportation.
