The Intersection – Where Fremont Meets the World                      11/07

      NE Food Bank   Thanks to Neil Davidson, Linda Paulk, Prineet Pottmeyer and Claudia Roberts for helping at the LAST Killingsworth Food Bank distribution. “On-deck” at the new site for November 24th is Fremont Youth plus Amy Edwards, Susan Helms-Peyer, Donna Leslie and Scott Overton. If you are interested in being added to the schedule let Prineet know.

      FREMONT VOLUNTEERS ROCK @ NEW FOOD HOUSE! Thanks from John at the new Food House to ~20 Fremonters who did an amazing job of cleaning and assembling the entire stock of shelves at the new food house in 3 hours!  John was truly under the gun to get this critical piece completed and he couldn't have done it without YOU!!

      NE Emergency food house open house The new Food House on 72nd & Wygant opens its doors to N/NE Portland's hungry on November 5th.  They still need help on Friday, November 2 and Saturday, the 3rd to move the stock from the 19th & Killingsworth site to the new house.  If you are available let Jeff know.  Stop by on Sunday, the 4th for their open house.

      Let's fill their shelves!!!  Now that their doors are open the on-going challenge for the Food House will be keeping the shelves stocked.  Please bring extra food items in November.  Please read Prineet's message about this in the main section of the Fremonter.

      PARTNERS FOR A HUNGER FREE OREGON Fremont Ad Council voted to support this important initiative by becoming a founding partner with the Oregon Hunger Relief Task Force.  Full founding partnership requires $200 by December 1st.  Marilyn will speak to the congregation about this on 11/4.  Please plan to give generously on November 4th & 11th. 

      DAYBREAK SHELTER NEEDS NEW BEDS daybreak has a goal of purchasing new beds by the end of this year. Donations for beds can be made to Day Break Shelter, 12727 SE Market St, Portland 97233 or give a donation to Tracy

      DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!!!!!!!!!!!  Fremont is on record as supporting Ballot Measure 50 (The Healthy Kids Initiative).  Its time to support the health care or Oregon’s 100,000 + children.

WINTER IS COMING & OPERATION NIGHTWATCH NEEDS BLANKETS & SOCKS The downtown drop-in shelter is busy and needs donations of warmth for Portland’s homeless. ction – Where Fremont Meets the World                      11/07
