Small Groups

United Methodist Women (UMW)

A group open to women of all ages who undertake mission projects and foster meaningful relationships.

They meet in members’ homes every 3rd Wednesday of the months September through May @10am for snacks and program time. Trina Leschber is the current president and can help if you are interested in joining.

Book Club

A group to engage readers in an eclectic array of fiction for hearty conversation and fellowship.
Our next Book Group discussion is set for Tuesday, June 7th at 7pm. We plan to meet in person at Donna Leslie’s home (3564 NE 26th Ave.) hopefully in the backyard.
The book to start reading is Madeleine L’Engle’s Certain Women.  It tells the stories of two Davids: King David and a legendary actor who always wanted to play him. The lives of these men and the women in their lives are “simultaneously woven together and unraveled in a narrative rich in theatrical tradition and archetypal wisdom. L’Engle gives us an unforgettable portrait of the private struggles and blessings of family life.”
Please, find a copy of the book and join us.

Stone Soup Meet and Eat

The group meets once a month during the school year, usually on the 4th Saturday of the month. They meet at the church at 5:30pm to share a potluck dinner and do crafts or play board games. The group is an intergenerational group and welcomes anyone to come join them. In November they make pumpkin pies and deliver them to shut-ins.

Centering Prayer Group

This group uses contemplative practice to deepen their spiritual lives, to help them reach out and serve others.
